My wife and I, and several friends, have fished with Alec three or four times for each of the past five years. He is our favorite guide on the Kenai River! I’ve referred him to friends and colleagues, knowing that he will provide them with the quintessential Alaska fishing experience! He is one of the most knowledgeable and personable guides on the river. I haven’t met anyone who knows the upper Kenai River better than he does.
Typically, I schedule a full-day float trip down the upper Kenai from Sportsman’s Landing to either Jim’s Landing or The Canyon. I haven’t fished with anyone who knows the river better than he does or is better at catching fish! He’s very patient with kids and inexperienced fishermen and makes sure they have a successful outing. He’s also very mindful about minimizing the human impact on the river. We typically stop for a shore lunch and he’s very careful to make sure we pack out everything we bring with us.
Alec is one of the good guys on the river. I always recommend him to my friends who are looking for a Kenai River guide, and I rarely schedule trips with anyone else. He’s a real asset on the river!
